Real Madrid have secured an agreement in principle with Borussia Dortmund, that the German club must inform Madrid of any developments regarding Marco Reus, according to the Daily Express.

The Spanish La Liga side are reportedly not keen to set the transfer in stone for next summer, so instead have asked their Dortmund counrtparts to update them on Reus’ situation.

Reus, a German international World Cup winner, recently rejected an improved deal at the Bundesliga club, with questions being asked about his future, with Arsenal and Manchester United, alongside Madrid, keen on the winger.

If the reports in Spain are correct, it puts Real in the driving seat to secure the deal in the coming months.

Dortmund’s eccentric manager Jurgan Klopp stated recently that he hopes that Reus will remain in Dortmund for the long haul.

He told Deutsche Presseagentur: “I can tell you I have a great feeling regarding Marco Reus’ future at Borussia Dortmund.

“Marco will definitely be around at our club for quite a while.”

However, Reus’ future has been put into doubt following the return of crowd favourite Shinj Kagawa, who returned to the Bundesliga in a ÂŁ6 million fee from Manchester United last week.
