Real Madrid have confirmed the signing of Brahim Diaz from Manchester City on a fee reported to be €17 million. Diaz signed a deal at the club till the summer of 2025.
Brahim Diaz played in the youth team of Malaga from 2010-2013 before moving to Manchester City’s youth setup. He played in the youth setup for three years before joining the senior team in 2016. The 19-year old has since made 15 appearances for the club, scoring two goals.
This season, Diaz made four appearances under Pep Guardiola, scoring two goals in an EFL Cup match against Fulham. Not long back, Guardiola said that City would do anything to kep Diaz despite interest from Real Madrid. However, Los Blancos managed to rope the young Spaniard in.
Real Madrid wrote on their website that Diaz will have his medical tomorrow before being presented at the VIP Box of the Santiago Bernabeu. Brahim Diaz is the second player Real Madrid have signed from an English club this season. They previously signed Thibaut Courtois from Chelsea for €35 million in the summer.
Diaz’s signing comes a few hours following Real Madrid’s 2-0 defeat to Real Sociedad at home.
