Arsenal legend Robert Pires has given his full support to under-fire midfielder Mesut Ozil and has backed him to come good next season once he’s used to English football.
The German international signed for Arsene Wenger on transfer deadline day in the Summer for a club record fee of £43million, and despite starting his career in London in fine-form, he has struggled in recent weeks due to fatigue.
Ozil, who is injured currently and expected to be out around four-to-six weeks, has received the backing from many people around Arsenal Football Club, and now Pires has given him his full support admitting that it’s always tough to adapt to English football right away.
Pires said: “Mesut is a very good player.
“For Mesut, it is very difficult. The tempo is not the same. He was like me. I remember the first season was terrible.”
