Arsenal legend Robert Pires believes if the club can beat Manchester City on Saturday, they will find themselves back in this season’s title-race.

The Gunners have slipped from first to fourth in the space of a month due to some tough fixtures, but after dropping points at home to Swansea City, their title chances have taken a huge dent, with all teams around them winning, but according to Pires, they are just one win away from being back in the picture.

The French midfielder claimed legendary status during his time at Highbury, and he believes a win on Saturday will put them back in with a shout at the title.

“At the moment, it has been a good season,” Pires told Sky Sports.

“Manchester City is like a cup final for Arsenal. If they beat them, it is possible for them to win the title. You never know with football.

“I always believe in Wenger and the players and I’m always confident in Arsenal.”

He added: “If they lost, the title race is over for Arsenal.
