Robin van Persie replacements tracked by United

It seems Manchester United are refusing to pay Robin van Persie a £10million loyalty bonus in 18 months time. That’s what’s in the contract if the Dutchman stays at Old Trafford. The United money men seem reluctant to pay that out for the 31-year old and would rather sell.

As potential replacements, the Red Devils have their eyes on TWO of the top strikers in European football; Edinson Cavani of Paris Saint Germain, and Thomas Muller of Bayern Munich.

Uruguay international, Cavani could cost in the region of £50million, with 25-year-old German World Cup Winner, Muller costing even more.

Muller has pretty much won everything there is to win in German club football, and also has a winners medal in the Champions League. Cavani may have a slightly less impressive trophy cabinet, and may be the hungrier of the two for silverware, but with Thomas Muller you have the complete and finished article. United would love him.

Van Persie has been linked with a couple of clubs in Turkey, and possibly a last big move to one of Europe’s elite in Real Madrid, but there is nothing concrete at this stage.
