Romagnoli is on his way to the San Siro
Alessio Romagnoli, the highly-rated Italian defender, has completed a £17m move from Roma to AC Milan, according to reports.
The two sides agreed a €25m transfer on Sunday evening, which will see the 20-year-old secure a five-year contract, worth €2m a season.
“We are very, very, very close and he just needs to undergo a medical,” stated AC Milan CEO Adriano Galliani.
Romagnoli had been on international duty with Italy, but has been allowed to leave their training camp to complete his move to Roma’s Serie A rivals.
AC Milan’s summer spending spree:
It has certainly been a changing of the guard at AC Milan this summer – with no fewer than eight new signings arriving at the club, as they look to challenge title-holders Juventus for the Serie A crown.
They have spent £54m on players this transfer window, including the signing of Sevilla forward, Carlos Bacca.
Premier League disappointment:
Arsenal and Chelsea were also keen on Romagnoli, however both will have been left frustrated by the news.
