Italian side Roma are prepared to double Kevin Strootman’s wages in order to keep him at the club amid interest from Manchester United.
The Dutch midfield ace has been out injured for several months following a knee injury but is in line to make a return at the end of November.
With Louis van Gaal a known admirer from their time together with the Dutch national team United are set to try and lure him to Manchester in January.
However Roma have placed a reported £75m price tag on his head and are willing to double his current £25,000 a week wages to ensure they don’t lose their star midfielder.
