Everton are feeling embarrassed as a club due to the strikers actions
Romelu Lukaku is surprised and shocked that his club has embarrassed for him this weekend when he provided Anelka with support and defended his ‘Quenelle’ gesture. The Toffees understnad why he defended him and thinks he was a bit naive in doing so. The striker revelaed his support in a recent interview.
Lukaku made matters worse by saying that Nicolas was his idol as a kid and that he shouldn’t be banned and that the FA over reacted to his actions. Everton have apologised on behalf of the Belgian however it may look like the 20 year old may receive punishment from the club. The interview video has even been removed from the club sight and Martinez has been requested to talk to Romelu about the matter however his young nature may help in his favour.
Nicolas Anelka has been banned for 5 matches due to his actions and the Frenchman has apologised multiple times.
