Ex-goalkeeper believes star duo will leave Bernabeu

Cristiano Ronaldo and Iker Casillas will leave Real Madrid this Summer, according to former-goalkeeper Agustin Rodriguez.

The duo have been strongly linked with leaving the Bernabeu in the near-future, but according to a former Madrid player, it could be this Summer which sees them both leave the club.

Interest in Duo

Ronaldo has been linked with a move back to the Premier League with former-club Manchester United interested in signing him, whilst Casillas has been monitored by both Arsenal and Liverpool.

Another possible option for Ronaldo is a shock move to MLS with a couple of clubs in America keen on luring the star away from Madrid.

However, the Portugal star still wants to be in a competitive league, so if he were to leave, it’s likely that it will still be in Europe.

Summer Farewell?

Speaking to media in Spain, Rodriguez revealed that he expects both stars to bid their farewells from Madrid this Summer and has told fans to wait until next Wednesday for an announcement.

‘I think Iker Casillas is going to go, genuinely. And Cristiano, too. I’m certain on that,’ the 55-year-old told Radio Marca.

‘We’ll see in the news that comes out next Wednesday.’

Madrid Woes

Madrid have seemingly thrown away the La Liga title after drawing 2-2 with Valencia last weekend, which leaves them four points of FC Barcelona with just two games left.

Carlo Ancelotti‘s side also face Champions League elimination in the Semi-Final after losing the first-leg to Juventus in Italy. The second-leg is in Spain tomorrow and Madrid will look to turn over a 2-1 deficit.
