Chelsea Midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek will be out of England’s Under-21 squad for the upcoming European Championships in Poland.

The 21-year-old has sustained a back injury and was not included in the initial pick of 28 was that was trimmed down to a final 23 by manager Aidy Boothroyd.

Also Chelsea’s out on loan Izzy Brown and Manchester City’s Patrick Roberts will be out because of injuries.

This comes as more of a blow for the Blues as Eden Hazard’s recent scan didn’t provide much comfort for the fans.

Keeper Joe Wildsmith of Sheffield Wednesday as well as defender Sam McQueen from Southampton are omitted.

However, Wildsmith and McQueen who are both on standby are ready to go.

The tournament begins on Friday, 16th June when England take on Sweden in their first game the a group which also includes Poland and Slovakia.
