Ryan Giggs has rejected all possibilities of him becoming the next manager of Manchester United. The former United winger feels Jose Mourinho is the perfect choice for the managerial role at Old Trafford.

United got off to a nightmarish start to their Premier League campaign as they have lost consecutive games at the hands of Brighton & Hove Albion and Tottenham Hotspur and the last 3-0 defeat against Spurs happened to be Mourinho’s ugliest loss in a home fixture in his entire managerial career.

United will have the chance to restore their pride to some extent when they travel to Turf Moor to take on Burnley who are also struggling as they have been pretty sluggish in this campaign so far.

In this crisis period, Giggs has asked for more support for the boss. On being asked about his chances of being the next United manager the Wales manager answered, “I would keep your money in your pocket if I were you.

“It is a time for the fans to stick together and get behind [the team]. It is a tough time at the moment, but we have had tough times before and got through it.

“Burnley was one of the games where I was setting up the cones before the game and I thought: ‘I wouldn’t mind playing today.’

“It is a fantastic game to get rid of all that negativity around the club. Purely speaking as a fan, I hope we get through it sooner rather than later.”
