Liverpool forward Sadio Mane has spoken on how last season’s disappointment is driving them this season.
The Reds made their way to the Champions League final last season but failed to get past the final hurdle. A goal from Sadio Mane offered a glimmer of hope for the Reds but a brace from Gareth Bale saw Real Madrid lifting the trophy for three consecutive times.
Mane’s contribution was crucial in the dream run last season as his 10 goals helped them in achieving the unexpected feat. Mane’s influence hasn’t been felt so far but the Liverpool no. 10 is ready to show once again what he is capable of.
Liverpool must need to defeat Paris Saint Germain in the next match to keep their hopes alive for a place in the knockouts. Mane said, “It was a great season.
Sadly, we didn’t win something but for this season it is motivation for us, to repeat it and try to go for it, and win it.”
“I scored at the World Cup finals, one of my best days so far in football,
“But we were leading 1-0 and it ended 2-2; it can be the best day of your life and sometimes it’s the worst day of your life. We were expecting to go far but we went out.”
