Sam Allardyce fears the sack

West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce believes if West Ham does not start winning games and moving away from the relegation zone, he could join the likes of Steve Clarke and Andre Villas Boas who have recently lost their jobs.

A quarter of the Premier Leagues managers have lost their jobs already this season, and with the likes of Malky Mackay under pressure there could be more sackings on the way.

‘The only way that I can relieve pressure on myself is to get results,’ said Allardyce on Tuesday.

‘Even with the backing of David Sullivan and David Gold, their patience cannot last for ever if I continue to lose football matches. It is as simple as that.

‘I have been appreciative of their support and backing, there is no doubt about that, but I have to deliver. I have to get the team winning as quickly as possible. We have got to stay in this league.

West Ham have been very good defensively this season keeping eight clean sheets, however it is their lack of goals that’s has left them down in the relegation zone. With no real strikers available their lack of goals could continue for a while.
