The West Ham United manager, Sam Allardyce, has admitted that he is unsure about his long-term future at Upton Park, according to the Guardian.

The 60-year-old is out of contract at the end of the current Premier League season, amid speculation that he may not be at the Hammers’ come August.

Allardyce, who has been at the East Londoners for nearly four-years, but has seen his future cast in doubt, following some recent performances of late.

West Ham, who were fourth at Christmas, have now dropped to tenth in the top-flight, with David Sullivan, and David Gould considering options.

But Allardyce is planning ahead for the future regardless of the situation.

“We sat down yesterday and began to plan for next season, when we’re coming back for pre-season, where we’re going to go and who we’re going to play. It’s not fully evolved yet but the plans are in place,” he said.

“No I don’t [know if I am going to be at West Ham next season], but when you are contracted to a club you do the job that you’re paid to do, one of those roles is to plan for next season.”

Speculation is mounting that David Moyes, who is currently in Spain with Real Sociedad, Besiktas boss Slaven Bilic, or Napoli manager Rafa Benitez, could be in the frame for the Upton Park hotseat should Allardyce leave his post.
