Real Madrid midfielder has edged closer to a move to Arsenal after holding talks with his German team-mates, Per Mertesacker and Mesut Ozil.
The central-midfielder is expected to depart the Bernabeu in January after refusing to sign a contract extention at the club, and since then, it’s been a three-horse race between Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United.
However, Arsenal’s German contingency has seemed to have worked their magic by talking to Khedira and persuading him to join the Emirates rather than the other two Premier League sides.
According to reports, the 27-year-old has held talks with both Arsenal and Chelsea, but has since spoken to his best-mates, Ozil and Mertesacker, who have been selling Emirates life to the Madrid star, hoping that they can persuade him to join.
Khedira’s contract expires next Summer, so he could either be purchased for cheap in January, or could agree a deal in principle and move to a new club in the Summer.
