The Argentina man is on the shortlist to be the next Chelsea manager.

Jorge Sampaoli has claimed he would love to manage in Europe in the future, putting Chelsea on high alert.

The current Chile boss is reportedly on the shortlist to be the next Blues boss and with this announcement by the 55-year old, Abramovich could try and seal a deal to bring him in ahead of next summer.

Guus Hiddink is currently in temporary charge at Stamford Bridge and it is highly likely that they will not keep him permanently and will instead turn to someone else when the season comes to an end – and that person could be Sampaoli.

He led Chile to their first ever Copa America victory and has a top record as a manager. His good results have even led to him being on the shortlist for the 2015 FIFA Coach of the Year award.

Simeone and Guardiola are also on the shortlist

Speaking about potentially managing in Europe, Sampaoli said: “In the future it would be something that I probably would [do], but they are all assumptions that today has nothing to do with reality.

“They are assumptions that will be discussed at the time. These are situations that we must also look [at]…because in the context of clubs you have the obligation to win all the time and you must be well trained and familiar with the environment.”

Chelsea are also looking at managers Pep Guardiola and Diego Simeone to potentially take the hotseat at Stamford Bridge but Sampaoli should certainly not be ruled out, especially with this latest claim.
