Samuel Eto’o has insisted that he as drawn a line under his row with former manager Jose Mourinho after he sealed a move to Everton.
The striker, who also considered a move to Everton, signed a 2 year deal at Goodison Park yesterday. His move to Liverpool fell through after the Reds signed Mario Balotelli, and he also snubbed a move to Ajax in order to continue playing Premier League football.
He could make his debut against Chelsea – who released him at the end of last term.
The Cameroon veteran will be desperate to make an impression against former boss Mourinho after the Chelsea manager was overheard mocking his age last season.
But Eto’o has refused to let the feud between himself and Mourinho go on as he moves to pastures new, and has taken an oppertunity to thank the Chelsea boss,
He said: “The only thing I have to say about Jose Mourinho is to thank him.
“It’s down to him that I had the opportunity to be accepted and integrated into the Premier League and I want to thank him for that.
“I’m not particularly concerned that it’s against my next team (on Saturday).
“The important thing is to integrate into my new team-mates’ way of playing and get ready for that match. If I don’t feature it’s just important to get ready.
“In the last 10 days I’ve travelled quite a lot and spoken with quite a few managers. I’m nearer the end of my career and I wanted to fit in where my contribution will be valued.
“Over the course of those travels the most inspiring and the person that said my contribution will be valued was Roberto.”
