Giuseppe Riso speaks out, revealing Tonali’s struggle and gratitude for Newcastle United’s support
In a new development involving Newcastle United player Sandro Tonali’s ongoing betting investigation, his agent, Giuseppe Riso, has come out to shed light on the matter. Riso confirmed Tonali’s gambling addiction, revealing the emotional battle the 23-year-old midfielder is now going through.

Tonali is described as “sad” and “still in shock,” which reflects the severity of the situation. Despite this, Riso praised Newcastle United for their help all through this difficult time.
“Sandro suffers of gambling addiction. He’s fighting to avoid that and I’m sure he will win this difficult game. He’s sad, still in shock.
“I was very pleased with President (of the Italian football federation) Gravina’s speech, it is important for these guys not to feel alone. Sandro is playing the most important game right now, the one against gambling, and he will win this one too.
“Right now he’s a bit in shock, I hope this game will save Sandro’s life and be an example for other boys too. He is shaken, he is sad. He has realised that he has to face this problem in a strong and very determined way.
“I thank Newcastle because they showed great closeness straight away, he’s training at the moment and he might even play on Saturday.”
Tonali has started training and should be ready to play in the upcoming Premier League match against Crystal Palace at St James’ Park this Saturday. The Newcastle United team is waiting for more information, hoping for a resolution that would help Tonali overcome his gambling addiction.
