In-demand Sane ready to quit Veltins-Arena

Schalke attacking midfielder Leroy Sane has told the club he wishes to leave, following interest from Europe’s elite clubs.

The German, who turned 20 yesterday, has expressed his desire to move on from the club after less two years from when he made his debut for the Bundesliga outfit.

Liverpool, Manchester City, Real Madrid and Barcelona are all targeting Sane, who has scored five goals in 24 appearances for Schalke this season.

It is understood the player has expressed his desire to leave in order to tempt Europe’s biggest clubs to make a bid to Schalke for his services.

Miners demand mega fee

Despite there having been little transfer activity, as far as bids are concerned, for the 20-year-old as of yet, the Miners are demanding a ÂŁ40 million fee for the player who has made just 34 appearances for the club.

However, Sane does boast Champions League experience, having made a great impact from the bench to score and set up Klaas Jan Huntelaar’s winner as the Miners beat the German’s potential suitors Real Madrid 4-3.

Sane’s senior international debut for Germany came relatively recently against France in a friendly back in November.
