Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla has ruled out any possibility of his returning to Spain in order to join champions Atletico Madrid.
The former-Malaga playmaker has been strongly linked with a return to La Liga in order to sign for last year’s champions, but the Spaniard has dismissed all reports linking him with a swift exit from the Emirates Stadium.
Cazorla signed for Arsenal two seasons ago for a fee around £16million, and Diego Simeone was keen to bring him back to his homeland this Summer, and felt confident in doing so, but he has been dealt a huge blow by the midfielder stating he is happy in England.
‘I am staying, I’m very happy playing for Arsenal and the team now is more strong with the new players,’ he said. ‘I hope we win the trophy for the fans.’
