Santi Cazorla wants Spain return

Arsenal midfielder, Santi Cazorla, is ready to return to his homeland with Atletico Madrid interested in his signature.

The Spaniard, who has scored 16 times in 82 league appearances for The Gunners, has fallen slightly down the pecking order at the Emirates Stadium since the arrivals of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez, and is ready to return back home.

However, due to injuries in the midfield, Cazorla has recently been a crucial part of the Arsenal first-team, and put in two superb performances against Borussia Dortmund and West Bromwich Albion, so he could find it tricky being allowed to leave the club.

Diego Simeone is reportedly interested in signing the 29-year-old, and it’s believed that the playmaker himself is also interest in linking up with the Argentine.

Madrid won La Liga last year and also reached the Champions League final before losing it in the last-minute after leading for majority of the game.

Cazorla scored a crucial goal in last season’s FA Cup final when he converted a free-kick to make it 2-1, but it’s reported that he’s unhappy not to be challenging on other trophy fronts since his arrival in 2012.

It’s likely that he will leave in the Summer rather than in January.
