Sergio Ramos angrily turns down Real Madrid contract offer

Sergio Ramos has turned down a new contract offer from Real Madrid.

The defender is widely regarded as one of the best centre-backs in the world.

Arsenal have been monitoring his transfer status closely as of late, and Spanish side Real Madrid had been in talks with Ramos over a new contract.

But the Spanish defender, with over 100 international caps to his name, has angrily turned down the deal.

The reasoon for the refusal is thought to be that Ramos is after a significant pay rise, which the European Cup holders are not willing to give.

Manchester United and Chelsea are also thought to be linked with the signature of Ramos.

Ramos, despite his pace, techincal ability and tactical skills, is also a bit of a hothead. He holds the Real record for most red cards.

Arsenal are also chasing more defensive cover, with Gabriel Paulista heavily expected to move to the Emirates Stadium.
