Sergio Ramos is out of PSG’s Champions League clash with Real Madrid

Sergio Ramos is out of PSG’s Champions League clash with Real Madrid.

According to the reports, Ramos will miss this week’s Champions League encounter against his old team Real Madrid owing to a muscular issue.

Former Barcelona striker Neymar, on the other hand, is ready to return to the PSG squad, but he is unlikely to be able to start considering that he has been out injured for nearly two months.

Ramos, 36, joined PSG on a free transfer from Real Madrid last summer, and the two teams will clash in the first leg of their last 16 encounter on Tuesday in Paris.

Due to injuries, he has only made five appearances and scored one goal. The Spaniard hopes to be fit for the return leg at the Bernabeu in March.

“Sergio Ramos will continue to train on his own following his calf injury,” PSG said Monday. “A further update will be provided in a week’s time.”

Mauricio Pochettino, manager of PSG, says the match between two of Europe’s super-clubs “might be a Champions League final.”

To make things worse for the Blancos, Real Madrid may be without striker Karim Benzema, who has been side-lined with an injury for the previous three games.

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti stated that the ultimate decision on the France striker will be made together by the player and the club’s doctors, with the Italian making a judgement based on the facts he has provided.
