Sherwood to sell Soldado.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Tim Sherwood is set to offload centre forward Roberto Soldado, with the Spaniard struggling in London.

Soldado joined Spurs for a whopping ÂŁ26 million from Valencia in the summer, but has failed to live up to expectations in North London.

The former Valencia man has scored just five goals in 21 games for his side this season, with Sherwood losing faith in the under-performing striker.

And reports in Spain suggest that Atleico Madrid will try and take the striker back to his homeland, in an ÂŁ8 million deal.

The La Liga side are expected to lose top scorer Diego Costa in the summer, and view Soldado as a possible target.

Soldado missed a sitter in Tottenham’s 1-0 defeat in the Europa League against Dnipro.

Emmanual Adebayor has overtook Soldado in the pecking order at Spurs, with the un-proven Harry Kane the only other option following the departure of Jermaine Defoe to FC Toronto.
