Sherwood wants the Tottenham job

Tim Sherwood has taken temporary charge of Tottenham after Andre Villas Boas was relieved of his duties earlier in the week. This will give Sherwood a chance to stake his claim to become the permanent Tottenham boss.

Sherwood was in charge for Tottenham’s quarter final defeat at home to West Ham on Wednesday.

I’ve got to be in the frame, but it’s not my decision, unfortunately,” said the 44-year-old ex-Tottenham player.

“I’m up for a challenge. I always have been. I’m very opinionated.”

Sherwood is a former player ay White Hart Lane and joined the coaching staff when Harry Redknapp was in charge of the club. With no former managerial experience some may consider this appointment a risk, however he was approached by Blackburn in 2012, but Spurs rejected the approach. Sherwood will hope Daniel Levy will at least consider him for the job
