Shock management return for Sir Alex?

The bookmakers have said Sir Alex Ferguson will be well in the running if Scotland manager Gordon Strachan steps down.

Strachan has found himself under quite a bit of pressure in the job after Scotland failed to qualify for Euro 2016.

He has said that he will take time to decide on his future, with some reports suggesting Strachan is keen to stay put.

Even so, that hasn’t stopped reports of suitable replacements if the post becomes vacant.

The Odds

Sir Alex Ferguson is currently sixth favourite at 14/1 with Bet Victor.

Joe Jordan is the favourite at odds of 4/1 followed by Graeme Souness and Paul Lanbert who are both at 6/1.

Alan Irvine and Steve Clarke are 8/1, with David Moyes at 10/1.

A return for Sir Alex Ferguson would be a huge shock to the world of football.

The 73-year-old retired at Manchester United manager in 2013 after 27 years in the job.

It was a more than successful spell at the club, where he won 13 PL titles, 5 FA Cups and 2 Champions Leagues.

Although others are much more likely to take up the position if a vacancy arrives, a return seems not to be out of the question.
