Sir Alex will have no say in Moyes future

Sir Alex Ferguson has said he will have no part in deciding David Moyes’ future as Manchester United manager. Sources close to Fergie indicate that the former United boss strongly believes Moyes will be in charge for the long haul.

The current United boss joined from Everton last summer and put pen to paper on a six-year deal. But he is under huge pressure after some bad results this season, that have seen the Red Devils slump to seventh in the table. Now, his future is in the hands of the Glazers with Sir Alex having little influence.

That could end up bad news for Moyes, who needs all the help he can get. Failure to get anything against Bayern Munich on Tuesday will only add even more pressure. On Saturday disgruntled fans even took to the skies to protest at their manager with a plane trailing a banner that said ‘Wrong One – Moyes Out’

But inside Old Trafford, Man United fans applauded Moyes and booed at the banner. In the end United beat Aston Villa 4-1.

Now the ball is in the Glazers court, with David Moyes future as boss in their hands. It is believed Ferguson has had little or no contact with Glazers and that it’s all up to them on whether they support or sack the man in charge.
