Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes this year’s title-race will be as unpredictable as ever and even believe up to six-teams will be fighting for the Premier League title come next May.

Last year’s race was only-ever a one-horse race with Sir Alex Ferguson’s Manchester United running away with the title, but with several managerial changes at the top of the league, things could be a lot closer this time around.

The Premier League gets underway this weekend after it’s summer break and Wenger believes it is the start of the toughest Premier League yet.

The Gunners boss expects the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea to all be up there once again this season, as well as his own team, but he also believes Tottenham and Liverpool will be a lot tougher this time around after having successful transfer windows.

“Six [teams could win the title],” the manager said. “Liverpool [could challenge] and Tottenham, who were just one point behind us last year. They made 72 points.

“You have to consider all the teams that made over 70 points last year have a chance. That’s a benchmark for me – 70 points.

“If you make 70 points, it means that there is not a lot of difference between you and the [team that finishes] first.”
