Southampton have acted quickly in the race to sign wanted Argentina defender Marcos Rojo.
It was understood that Chelsea were front-runners to sign the youngster and were hoping to secure a deal very soon, but now it appears unlikely that any deal will take place.
This is due to Southampton, who have stolen a march on Chelsea and have tabled a bid to sign Rojo after capturing Chelsea left-back Ryan Bertrand on a permanent basis.
The Saints have a rebuilding mission to complete after losing various stars to many clubs, with Rojo expecting to be the second arrival in the coming days.
Manager Koeman is ready to complete deals for various players and it now appears that they have beaten Chelsea in the race to sign the Argentine defender.
