Southampton prepare spending spree

Southampton are preparing to replace their ‘lost stars’ as the Premier League nears the beginning.

The Saints have lost important first team players in various positions, but are now preparing to splash the cash in order to form a stronger starting eleven.

It is understood that Saints boss Ronald Koeman is keeping tabs on United outcasts Javier Hernandez, Wilfried Zaha and Ashley Young.

The boss is hoping he can lure Hernandez and Young to St.Mary’s without any snags, but Southampton will have to act fast if they want to capture Zaha.

Zaha has agreed terms with West Ham, QPR and former club Palace who are all hoping they can bring in the youngster on loan.

Dutch duo Ron Vlaar of Aston Villa and Celtic’s Virgil van Dijk are also wanted by the club, while Celtic goalkeeper Fraser Forster is another target.

The problem for Southampton is that other clubs will hike up their transfer fees knowing the Saints have banked ÂŁ100m by selling five first-team players.
