Manchester United put-off by Saints’ price-tag

Southampton have slapped a £50million price-tag on the head of Manchester United target Sadio Mane.

The Red Devils were linked with the attacker late on in the summer transfer window, but they failed in a bid believed to be worth around £20m.

However, that hasn’t stopped Louis van Gaal‘s interest and he could launch a fresh bid in the New Year once the transfer window reopens.

Club officials at St Mary’s Stadium made it very clear over the summer that Mane wouldn’t be leaving the club under any circumstances, but due to United‘s financial strength, it was thought a move could be forced.

Mane Fee

After missing out on Mane, United splashed their cash on Anthony Martial from AS Monaco, and according to reports, a similar fee would have to be paid to sign the 22-year-old from Southampton.

It’s stated that Southampton officials believe Mane is developing at the same rate of Martial, and due to the lack of strikers in the market, a substantial fee should be offered.
