Mauricio Pochettino has failed in a bid to try and bring Antoine Griezmann from Real Sociedad to White Hart Lane. The Argentine who is still looking for his first signing since taking the Spurs job had a £15 million bid rejected by the Basque side.
And it is reported that if Pochettino wants to sign the winger then he will have to activate the Frenchman’s release clause of £25 million. Monaco have also been quoted that Sociedad will not sell the winger for less than his release clause.
The La Liga side are desperate to keep the 23 year old and hope that the fee will put off any potential suitors for the Frenchman. But with James Rodriguez reportedly about to join Real Madrid for a fee in the region of 90 million euros that the French side will be willing to to activate Griezmann’s release clause.
With Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho claiming their summer spending has finished then it only leaves Monaco and United for Spurs to try and beat to the impressive forward who bagged 16 goals and 3 assists last season in La Liga.
