Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard is set to put pen-to-paper on a new deal, which will see him earn a basic salary of £150k-a-week.
The recently retired English international is entering the final year of his contract at Anfield, but is keen to extend his stay despite turning 34, and is planning on signing a new two-year deal, which will see him stay at the club until 2016 at least.
Gerrard admitted that his decision to retire from international football was in order to prolong his club career with Liverpool, and after announcing his retirement, he is now set to sign a new deal which will see him through until he’s 36.
The midfielder will become one of The Reds’ top earners after he signs the contract.
