Liverpool midfielder, Steven Gerrard, has finally been offered a new deal by the club, but he is in no rush to accept it after making his team look over it.

The Englishman is entering the final few months of his deal at Anfield and as of yet, hadn’t been offered a new deal at the club despite his reputation around Merseyside.

Gerrard, who celebrated his 16th anniversary at the club on Saturday, has finally been offered a new deal, but he has told the club he will take time to consider it and will ask his team of representatives to look over it.

The club are expected to offer Gerrard a severe pay-cut from his current ÂŁ150k-a-week deal, and due to that pay-cut, the captain wants a two-year deal offered rather than a one-year.

Despite reports of a rift between the two, both Gerrard and Brendan Rodgers laughed off speculation that they had a fall-out, and it’s expected a contract will be signed in the next few months.
