Liverpool have already signed Mario Balotelli from AC Milan hence the departure of Luis Suarez to Barcelona, but manager Brendan Rodgers is still ponding on the potential transfer of the Ivorain to Anfield this summer.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is also keen on adding the 25-year-old to his squad after French forward Olivier Giroud was ruled out until the new year after suffering a broken ankle, and with Real Madrid set to hijack the loan deal for striker Radamel Falcao from Monaco, the French manager may be compelled to land Bony as an alternative.

Tottenham are another club linked with the Ivory Coast International, but Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that an offer for Bony will only be made should the loan deal for Danny Welbeck from Manchester United fall through.

Despite the speculation, Swans boss Garry Monk revealed earlier this week his desire to keep the Ivorian at the Liberty Stadium and pair him up with summer acquisition Bafetimbi Gomis later this season.

“It’s definitely not the case that he’s his replacement,” Monk said about Gomis. “I don’t think it’s about pressure on Bony.

“Through the season we’ll see different things: they’ll play as lone strikers, they’ll play as a pair, use them in different ways.

“It’s not a competition between them but obviously we want them all to push each other and every striker will want to be top scorer.

“But it’s about them working together which they’ve done very well in pre-season and been great with each other on the training field.”
