Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny believes that his side are more than capable of mounting a title challenge, and keeping pipping at Manchester City.

The Gunners went to the top of the table on Sunday afternoon as two goals from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain gunned down Crystal Palace in a professiona; performance at the Emirates.

Ever since the Hammering at Manchester City, the Polish shot stopper has been in superb form, maturing at a rapidly growing pace into a fine Premier League goalkeeper destined for greatness.

Szczesny remains confident that the Gunners can keep their ever mounting challenge going, and seems perplexed at the doubters writing the Gunners off.

Szczesny stated in an interview to The Guardian Newspaper…..

Over the last couple of seasons we have had less luck with injuries. I never played with the same back four for more than two or three games whereas now we play with the same back four, sometimes we rotate the full-backs but in general we stay with the same defence.

“We read each other and it is a very good understanding that we have.”

Szczesny continued: “We realise that if you want to win the championship then you have to be solid defensively and that is the most important thing.

“We know that clean sheets give you the best platform to go on and win games so if we can keep a few more until the end of the season then we can get our rewards.”

Arsenal face some tough fixtures over the next few weeks, travelling to Liverpool on Saturday lunchtime, before facing the Merseysiders in a showpiece F.A Cup tie in a couple of weeks, the Gunners also face Bayern Munich in an eagerly anticipated fixture against the runaway Bundesliga leaders.

The keeper has been in fine form of late, making several saves in the win on Sunday, and could be a key figure in the Gunners title quest.

He has also enjoye a superb international career to date, producing a fine performance in the fixture against England back in October.
