John Terry is likely to be ruled out of Chelsea’s clash with Liverpool friday night at Stamford Bridge after picking up an ankle injury at the Liberty stadium in Chelsea’s 2-2 draw with Swansea on Sunday.
The 35 year old rolled his ankle in the final minutes of the game after a collision with Swansea’s midfielder Leroy Fer. The Chelsea skipper is said to have suffered some bad bruising under his ankle bone with some swelling also, he was seen leaving the stadium on crutches after the game.
When asked about the extent of Terry’s injury, Antonio Conte responded saying, ” I don’t know the extent of the injury but tomorrow we will see the situation about his ankle. But he is a warrior. I am not worried.”
The centre back then took to instagram and posted videos of himself undergoing medical treatment. After undergoing scans which were indecisive, he is set for a further scan on tuesday. A club announcement is expected regarding Terry’s fitness on tuesday also but he is a severe doubt for friday night.
Terry is expected to be replaced by David Luiz who could be in line to make his second debut for the club since joining from PSG on deadline day.
