Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is hoping to tie up new contracts with players Joe Allen, Kolo Toure and Glen Johnson.

The Welsh international Allen has already begun talks to extend his stay at Anfield, beyond the two years he still has remaining on his current deal.

However, both Kolo Toure and Glen Johnson are out of contract at the end of the season and could leave the Reds on a free in summer.

The 34-year old Toure has admitted that he and his agent have entered talks with the club over a possible new deal.

He said: “We are still talking. My agent is talking to the club. We will see in a few days, the club have to think and I have to think as well.”

Johnson on the other hand has had interest from clubs abroad and may choose not to sign a new deal on Merseyside.

When asked about moving to a foreign club, he said: “There are talks. It would be great for the kids to go abroad, but I am not thinking about yet as we have two months left here. I’ll think about it after that. We will have to wait and see.”
