Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna has told the club that he wants a new three-year deal worth £100k-a-week in order to sign a contract extension.

The Frenchman has so far turned down two extensions from Arsene Wenger and the club’s board due to only being offered a 12-month deal worth £60k-a-week, but the right-back feels his committment to the club should be rewarded with a new lucrative deal.

Wenger is worried about offering Sagna more than a one-year deal due to his injured past, which has see him break his leg twice, but they currently face losing the 31-year-old with his current deal expiring in the Summer.

Premier League rivals Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea have all shown interest in the Frenchman, but it is understood he wants to remain at the Emirates Stadium until he retires, but he wants to be rewarded for the committment he has shown, whilst stars around him have been and gone.

Arsenal offered Sagna a two-year deal the second time around, but kept it at £60k-a-week, which once again Sagna rejected.

Sources close to the player admit that he is feeling frustrated due to how long the talks have been going on for without a breakthrough, and players at the club are getting the feeling that the Frenchman will leave in the Summer.
