Tim Sherwood admits top-four will be tough

Tottenham Hotspur manager Tim Sherwood believes it will be tough for his side to finish in the top-four now after he saw his side lose 1-0 away to Norwich City yesterday.

A Robert Snodgrass goal at Carrow Road gave The Canaries a 1-0 victory over Spurs on Sunday and after Liverpool saw off Swansea City, the point gap betwee the two extended to six.

Sherwood’s men will still feel like they are in the race for the top-four spot, but with Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea all above them vying for the title, it would take an unlikely wobble from one of those teams for Spurs to gain a Champions League spot.

After the 1-0 defeat to Chris Hughton’s men, Sherwood admitted that his side need to bounce back as soon as possible.

“You can’t rely on other people to lose every time and us qualify for the Champions League. It’s not going to happen.

“It looks a big gap and is a big blow to us. We have got to bounce back.

“We have got Dnipro in the second leg (of Europa League last 32 tie), then Cardiff at home. We are looking for a bounce back and we need characters in the dressing room to do that.

“This is the first major setback I have had and we are going to need to be spirited and show what we are made of. The result was very disappointing.”
