Toby Alderweireld Insists Spurs Not Taking Arsenal Lightly

Tottenham Hotspur defender Toby Alderweireld believes Arsenal under Unai Emery is a different unit altogether and they need to be at their best to grind out a win at Emirates on Sunday.

The Gunners have kept their intensity intact throughout the season as Emery has had a positive influence on the side so far. The former Paris Saint Germain manager took very little time to adjust with the difficulties of the Premier League and has guided the North London giants to an 11 match unbeaten run in the top flight.

Spurs too are on a three match unbeaten run and will definitely fancy their chances against a strong Arsenal side. Alderweireld said, “This isn’t the biggest fixture of our season.

“It’s a very big game, but that goes for the game against Inter Milan and last Saturday against Chelsea.

“It says something about the evolution of Spurs that it’s not the biggest game of our season.”

“We’re not taking anything for granted.

“They are pretty different under Unai Emery. Good attacking and defensively more sorted than before.

“We have to be on top form to beat them but we’re confident.

“But we have shown we are now capable of competing with anyone.”
