The midfielder joins the Toffees on a free from Aston Villa
Tom Cleverley has agreed to join Everton on a free transfer.
He will join on the 1 July when his current contract runs out at Man United. Aston Villa – who had the midfielder on loan for the whole of 2014/15 – were keen to sign him on a permanent basis, but the Toffees have beat them to it.
The Englishman has agreed a five-year deal and Roberto Martinez is hoping that Cleverley can strut his stuff in the centre of the park for Everton and perform as well as he did for Villa.
It’s a blow for Tim Sherwood who was hoping to hold onto him and to make him part of a new-look Villa squad next season, with the manager hoping to sign several new players this summer as part of his rebuilding process at the club.
However, it is not to be as it is Everton who have managed to seal a deal for the 25-year old.
