Lilywhites plotting shock move for Liverpool striker
Spurs are looking to Liverpool back up striker Fabio Borini as a possible transfer if a deal for Saido Berahino does not go through.
According to Italian publication Tuttomercatoweb, Tottenham are lining up a bid for Liverpool flop Fabio Borini if they fail to land youngster Berahino.
Mauricio Pochettino has already seen two bids of £15m and £22m rejected by West Brom this summer.
The striker confirmed his intentions to leave the Hawthorns by handing in a transfer request on Monday but Spurs remain with their options.
Borini Expected To Leave
So much so that the underwhelming performances of Borini at Anfield have not been enough to deter the North London side from seeing him as a potential summer move.
The Italian forward has been linked with a move to Inter Milan this summer and is understood to be nearing a deal for a move to Serie A.
The 24 year-old has managed just three goals from 38 appearances for the Reds and could look for a way out in order to save his career.
West Brom meanwhile do still have a plan B in place if they sell Berahino, as they continue to eye up QPR frontman Charlie Austin.
