Spurs want to sign out-of-favour Chelsea striker

Tottenham Hotspur are the latest side to be linked with a January move for Chelsea striker Loic Remy.

The Frenchman has been strongly linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge this month, with a loan-move expected to take place if the Blues can land a suitable replacement.

Alex Teixeira from Shakhtar Donetsk and Carlos Bacca from AC Milan have both been linked with moves to Chelsea, and if either of them do complete a move to the Bridge, it would see Remy leave.

The 29-year-old has been linked with Premier League rivals Aston Villa and Newcastle United, as well as Super Lig side Galatasaray, but Spurs are now the latest side to enter the race for the striker.

Remy is a backup option for Guus Hiddink as Diego Costa continues to be the number-one option despite his lack of goals this season.

Spurs Enter Race

According to reports, Spurs have now entered the race for the striker and would like to bring him in on a short-term loan deal.

Tottenham only have Harry Kane as a recognised striker, and with a potential title-race on the cards, Mauricio Pochettino wants to strengthen his options up front.

However, officials at White Hart Lane don’t feel optimistic about getting Chelsea to do business with them.
