Manchester United held to a 1-1 draw agaisnt CSKA Moscow in tonight’s Champions League group stage game.

It has ended at the Arena Khimki in Moscow tonight 1-1. Goals from Anthony Martial and Seydou Doumbia mean both team’s take a point from tonight’s encounter.

The game started promisingly for United with them applying pressure onto the home side. In the 10th minute United felt they should of been awarded a penalty after Anthony Martial took a tumble in the penalty area.

Goal 1-0

Three minutes later in the 13th minute Referee Carlos Velasco Carballo pointed to the spot after CSKA right-back Mario Fernandes flicks the ball onto Anthony Martial’s hand, clear penalty. From the spot David De Gea pulled off a stunning save from Eremenko, however only for Seydou Doumbia to slam in the rebound and the hosts lead here.

In the 30th minute David Dea Gea Musa by tipping his powerfull shot over the bar.

Half time 1-0

The second half was quiet until the 60th minute when Andre Herrera supplied an excellent cross in towards Wayne Rooney, who’s header was too central and Akinfeev claimed it easily enough.

GOAL 1-1

In the 65th minute Herrera played  in Valencia down the righthand side, the ball was wipped in with pace and diverted home by Martial’s brave header.

Despite a few half chances here and there the match ended 1-1 on a cold evening in Rusia.

FULL TIME 1-1

Manchester United were awful in the first half and failed to test the CSKA defence enough. Second half was slightly better however they diddn’t set the world alight. In the second half Louis van Gaal switched to a more balanced 4-3-3 formation, this provided United with a better platform to move forward. Manchester finished the game strongly after a first half during which they created very little and looked poor in defence. In my opinion United will be pleased with the point tonight.
