Manchester United have joined the race for the signature of Southampton’s French midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin.
The midfielder had asked for a transfer away from the club this summer, but new boss Ronald Koeman denied him the opportunity to join his former team-mates in departing St Mary’s last summer. However, all has been forgotten as the 25 year-old’s outstanding performances have helped the Saints rise to third in the Premier League, following a 1-0 win at Old Trafford on Sunday.
North London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham had been hot on his tail in the summer, with his former boss Mauricio Pochettino keen to bring him to White Hart Lane. But, Louis Van Gaal has stepped up his interest in the France international and hopes to lure him to Old Trafford this January.
