Shock move could be on the cards following Zlatan arrival

It’s being reported that Manchester United have made 2 approaches in the last 3 weeks for Lionel Messi.

A deal for Messi would smash the ÂŁ85.3m world record transfer that Real Madrid paid Tottenham for Gareth Bale.

Messi’s current deal at the Nou Camp is set to expire in 2018 and it has emerged that he will require certain assurances if he is to remain at Barcelona, where he has scored an astonishing 453 goals in 531 games.

A deal would also only happen next summer, if United make it back into the Champions League for the 2017-18 season. United have set their sights on several huge names in football including trying to re-sign Cristiano Ronaldo, along with possible moves for Gareth Bale and Neymar.

On Friday, sources close to Messi refused to rule out of the possibility of a move.
