United target PSG striker

Manchester United are prepared to make a £50 million move for PSG striker Edinson Cavani in the summer to lure the striker to Old Trafford.

The forward has reportedly been a target of numerous other Premier League clubs including Arsenal and Liverpool, but United seem ready to pounce for the Uruguayan.

The Red Devils currently have Robin Van Persie, Wayne Rooney, and James Wilson in their ranks up front, with Radamel Falcao at the club on a season long-loan deal, but United do have the option to purchase the Colombian for £44 million come the end of the season.

However, if Louis Van Gaal’s side are to make a move for Cavani, the 29 year-old is sure to return to AS Monaco.

The 27 year-old forward, who has netted seven goals in 15 league appearances, is reportedly unhappy at the Ligue 1 outfit.

Cavani has also been strongly linked with Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool in the past, but it seems the trio are out of the running for the Uruguayan, leaving United in pole position.
