Louis Van Gaal is reportedly set to bid around £24 million for Sporting Lisbon midfielder William Carvalho, reports the Daily Mail.
Carvalho is looking at the highly rated centre midfielder to boost his options, with the likes of Tom Cleverley and Maroune Fellaini coming under fire in recent weeks.

United signed Angel Di Maria in a £60 million fee yesterday, taking their summer spending past the £100 million mark.
Sporting have also dropped their asking price for the player, which could be an advantage for United.
