Ahead of Liverpool versus Manchester United today, Louis van Gaal revealed he could have been in the Liverpool dugout.
The Dutchman admitted he held talks at Anfield about becoming the Liverpool manager, before Brendan Rodgers was given the job three years ago.
However, van Gaal insisted that it is in the past, but he also said he has full focus on the United job and that he is very lucky.
He said: “Yes, I spoke to Liverpool but that is not so interesting anymore.”
He also added: “I am the manager of Manchester United, the number one club in England but Liverpool also has a very good record in its history.”
The two sides meet at Anfield today in a clash that will have a massive say in Champions League qualification.
